Insure Your Health in Retired Life

Health the word in itself is enough for all of us, in today's world, to think of doctors and medications. It is hardly ever seen as a positive point and almost always something accompanied by doctors and medical tests, more so, if you are a senior citizen. Being a senior citizen does not mean being vulnerable in any way. This is the story of Mr. Marathe and his friends, all senior citizens and their understanding of the need for health insurances for senior citizens.

Mr. Marathe was a senior citizen, living in a city full of hustle and bustle. He saved money all through his life, and as he grew closer towards retirement, he thought his life was changing for good. He was now day dreaming of leisure in life, holidaying, relaxing and enjoying his retirement. Unlike other citizens we generally see, he didn't seem worried at all. He had his health plans intact, which not only included eating healthy and daily exercises, but also the individual health insurance that he would be reaping benefits from. He planned for healthcare in his old age, just as he planned for the leisure at retirement.

Mr. and Mrs. Joshi were Mr. Marathe's colleagues turned friends. They too believed in saving for a rainy day, however, they never managed to start with it. The couple was senior to him and had already crossed the age of 65. The day Mr. Marathe retired this couple met him and a usual chat began, gradually turning into heath concerns that the senior citizens face and the financial constraints that come along with it. At this Mr. Marathe told his friends that he was insured by a senior citizen insurance plan as soon as he turned 60, and so if and when health concerns him, he is insured. This insurance covered most of his health concerns as well as provided for reimbursement of hospital charges in case any untoward incident or illness came his way. Mr. Joshi was happy to know that his friend was well insured, but he was concerned about himself and his wife. He had always thought that such insurances were to be taken either at a much younger age or at least when one turns 60, and they were already past 65.

However, a common friend of theirs informed them that the benefits of health insurances can still be enjoyed. There are many insures that provide for special health care plans for senior citizens after age 65. Though the premium and such factors differ to an extent when compared to other policies, it covers almost everything as the plans taken before attaining the age of 65. These insurances not only cover hospitalization charges but also other charges incurred due to medical reasons, including cover for existing medical issues like diabetes and blood pressure. These policies help the senior citizens live with dignity and independence. Even though their salaries would no more come, they would not be vulnerable to medical expenses, even in their last innings of life.

Soon, Mr. and Mrs. Joshi had chosen the right policy that suited them and got insured by it. Now Mr. Marathe and his friends were truly ready to live a happy retired life.
