Riding The Half-Pipe
A Pipe is not flat or at least you won't ride on flat long, a pipe is about transitions and if you suck at them, you will fall.
Imagine yourself at the top of a vertical and icy slope; there is no powder and the ground is truly hard, at this point the key is not to think but go and an exciting feeling will overwhelm your whole body like a drug.
Once you are inside, at the beginning you will not be fast otherwise you might end up too high for you and your head could bump onto the lip which is definitively not a good thing.
After having ridden a few times the Half-Pipe, you will be tempted to try a few pipe tricks such as grab turns and spins while always keeping an eye on nice landings.
The more you ride the higher you will want to reach and the more stunts you would like to achieve.
Eventually every local photographers will be there to shot your Haakon flip and Spins.
Riding a pipe can be a daunting task and a good equipment is very important and can avoid you to fall on funny transitions.
Everyone should be comfortable with his board; do not try to ride the pipe with an alpine deck, every riders will jib on you and you will finish your trip at the hospital.
You need to run "Fakies", making 180 & 360 so you must have an easy spin deck on your feet.
A few suggestions on my own, I'm a snowboard retailer, I did not try all of these but you can follow and make up your ideas on your own; however I assume you are not a beginner.
