DC Rebound Skate Shoes Review
About.com Rating
The Bottom Line
The DC Rebound is a solid, strongly stitched high top skateboarding shoe. The DC Rebound has a nice long list of special features, not the least of which is the special DC DGT rubber sole. Plus, the fact that the DC Rebound is a high-top shoe adds to the shoe's versatility. You can wear the DC Rebound out skating or onto the court. For some people, the high top design may make the DC Rebound a little too inflexible - it depends on what you want.

Guide Review - DC Rebound Skate Shoes Review
DCShoeCoUSA has only one high topped skate shoe in their current lineup - the DC Rebound. A lot of people prefer the extra mobility of low cut skate shoes instead of the extra stability that high tops offer.
For example, when ollying you'll likely want to bend your ankle so you can drag the edge of your foot up your board. However, it would be foolish to ignore the benefits that the DC Rebound's high-top design offers.
For one, high topped skate shoes help protect you from ankle roll. Rolling one's ankle isn't just a problem in skateboarding, though - it's something to watch out for with other sports as well, like basketball. Which brings me to another aspect of the DC Rebound that I liked a lot - you can wear them for court sports, like basketball.
The soles also feature DGT - "Dynamic Grip Technology", where different areas of the sole are made with rubbers of different durometers (a.k.a. "hardnesses", just like with wheels). The toe is made with soft rubber for control, the middle is made with medium rubber for extra traction, and the heel is made with the hardest rubber to extra durability. DGT is a great innovation, and should actually help you with your skating. However, if you are like me then you will also wear out the sole right under the ball of your foot faster - but I do that no matter what shoes I'm using!
If you are looking for high topped skate shoes, I haven't seen any better than the DC Rebound. They are tough, thickly padded, and well designed.
