When it comes to losing weight, often times the people with the most drive and best of intentions still come up short in their efforts. There is nothing more frustrating than when you seemingly do everything right and still come up short in your efforts to lose weight and get the body of your dreams. There are a few very common mistakes people make that commonly cause them to get less than stellar weight loss results.

A few of the most common mistakes made that sabotage weight loss include:
1. Eating too many carbohydrates late at night
2. Eating too few calories throughout the day
3. Skipping breakfast
4. Eating larger meals

Let's take a closer look at these under-the-radar sabotages to your weight loss efforts:

Eating too many carbohydrates late at night:
This is one of the more commonly known causes of weight loss struggles. It is important to keep carbohydrate sources such as vegetables and salads at the forefront of your last two meals of the day, which will help keep you full without loading your body with too many calories. Since you are less active at night, you simply require fewer calories.

Eating too few calories throughout the day:
Many people falsely believe that in order to lose weight they must eat very few calories, but this is the worst thing that can be done. Eating too little will slow down your metabolism and bring your weight loss to a screeching halt. Do not sabotage yourself by eating too little, keep a steady stream of high quality calories going into your body to keep your metabolism stoked and your weight loss steady.

Skipping breakfast:
The first key to starting the day off right is eating a healthy and plentiful breakfast. Breakfast has been the staple of every successful weight loss program for many years. Breakfast stimulates the metabolism, prevents overeating throughout the day, and has been shown to decrease overall caloric intake throughout the day.

Eating larger meals:
When someone eats a large meal, their body is forced to work much too hard to digest, leaving them feeling sluggish and weighed down. Large meals slow the metabolism and also slow down the rate of weight loss. Instead, divide these larger meals into two smaller meals and eat them evenly spaced out throughout the day. This will ensure you keep a faster metabolism and will thus keep you losing weight on a steady basis.

Learn to avoid these common weight loss sabotages and you will be well on your way toward getting the body of your dreams.
