    The 40/40 Club

    • The 40/40 Club combines sports, food and hip hop music. Jay-Z owns the club and filmed two of his music videos in it. The 40/40 regularly hosts celebrity guest deejays and is open from Wednesday to Monday from 6 p.m to 4 a.m. Sometimes the hours change if a major sporting event is taking place. The club is decorated with sports memorabilia and plasma TVs showing sporting events.

    Pacha New York

    • Pacha plays a range of music, including hip hop. Every weekend it hosts events, which have included a deejay set by hip hop artist Will.I.Am. You have to purchase tickets in advance for many weekend events, which you can do online at the Pacha website. Pacha has four floors, each with its own theme.

    Bob Bar

    • Bob Bar, on the Lower East Side, features rap classics, hip hop, R&B and reggae music. Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights have sets by the clubs resident deejays. The club also hosts bachelorette and bachelor parties with advance booking.

    Henrietta Hudson

    • Henrietta Hudson claims to be New York's best lesbian venue. The club is open seven nights a week and hosts a variety of events, including singles nights. Features of the club include an outdoor smoking lounge, two bars and music theme nights. Thursday, Friday and Saturday have hip hop music. Henrietta Hudson only allows entry to those over the age of 21 who produce a valid form of ID such as a driver's license, passport or military ID card. Even though the club caters to the lesbian community, it is friendly to people of any persuasion and cultural background. The club enforces a dress code. You cannot wear any type of head gear and must dress in a stylish manner, especially men.

    • The Strata nightclub is open only on Friday and Saturday. The club features hip hop, house and classic music while you dance to its special lighting effects. The club hosts private parties and will help you plan them.

    SOB's

    • SOB's, located in Soho, has a long history of hip hop and R&B music. Many now world-famous muscians started their careers here, such as Kanye West and Lauryn Hill. The club hosts regular hip hop events that you can buy tickets for from its website. However, it does not have a set night for hip hop, so you have to check its events calender to see when hip hop artists are performing. Besides music, you can enjoy Latin food, including bahi chicken, jalapeno hamburgers and Cuban roast pork sandwiches.
