The Changing Price Of Printing.

The printing of photos in the old days meant first exhausting the 36 shots film roll & sending them for development, only then could they be printed on small sizes like: 4x6, 6x9. Larger prints were available but marginally costly. The cost of a decent monochrome printer back then too, ran into few hundred dollars.
But, situation gradually started getting better. The first made of home /small office inkjet printer by IBM was in the 1990s. But this brought in a new way to unleash the creative mind & photographer within all.
Meanwhile digital cameras too, were making inroads into all our homes. The quality & capabilities of these cameras were getting better by the day. Some pioneers in the field of Digital cameras like: Nikon, Kodak, Cannon & later Sony, Fujifilm, Samsung, were offering digital cameras matching all sizes & budgets. These compact digital cameras allowed everyone a very simple way of capturing the candid moments in their & sometimes others lives!
Digital Cameras offered multiple advantages:
1) Take many shots: No longer are we limited to one shot only. Images that came out blurred, could be easily discarded & only the fine ones could be kept.
2) Print anytime: No more waiting till the 24 or 36 shots were exhausted. One could simply print any photo, any time.
3) Store on PC: Just like documents, these photos or as they are referred to as images could be easily sitting on a hard-drive in a PC, thereby occupying no physical space.
4) Share with anyone: Being in soft format meant you could share the photos with anyone through email, instant messaging, MMS etc.
5) No physical damage: Earlier the Albums of photos had to be stored very carefully. Else they were prone to water damage, white ants. Beautiful memories lost forever. Well, now-a-days that does not happen. A hard-drive failure may cause loss of memories though!
Another advantage of these digital cameras was the ability to high resolution images. Though this was not relevant back then, when sizes of prints were limited to few inches. However, once printing cost started to come down, the final results appeared to be blurred, grainy & sketchy. Guess, this was th reason consumers kept buying cameras of higher resolutions.
The combined advantage of cheaper printing & ease of taking photos changed the face of printing forever. Photo Blinds are basically Blinds with you can customise and create your own unique blinds. The possibilities are endless.
