It is important to feed your body with a sufficient amount of nutrient that fortify your hair follicles. A well-balanced, protein-rich and varied diet plays a strong role in how good your tress will look.

Some important hair growth tips include:
  1. Regular trimming of your hair: Hair is constantly growing. You need to ensure its shape and life by having regular trims. A trim may involve getting rid of ½ to ¼ inch of your hair. This way, damaged or old hair follicles are removed, giving rise to the growth of new ones. Not only this, your hair is given a bounce and glow. This is a surety to healthier hair. 

  2. Stimulate your scalp from time to time: It is important to stimulate the blood flow to your scalp from time to time. This in turn speeds up the hair growth process. Hot oil massages or a head massage or simply massage your scalp with your fingers for 2-5 minutes. This is extremely important as it enhances hair growth. Hibiscus, almond or coconut oil might be applied. 

  3. Avoid using hair brush when hair is wet: Immediately after your shower, avoid brushing your hair. This will lead to breakage of the hair. Instead, use a dry towel and dry hair your well. You can then use a wide-toothed comb, rather than a brush.
     
  4. Ensure a healthy diet: It is very important to feed your body the sufficient amount of proteins, vitamins and minerals. Your hair is largely composed of keratin, which is a protein that is made up of amino acids. It is important to ensure that you have a have a healthy diet where your body produces more amino acids. Some of the high protein foods that you should ensure that you eat include dark green veggies, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, soy products, beans, sprouts, nuts, lentils, tofu and cottage cheese. Ensure you have foods substances which are rich in vitamins. Those food substances which are rich in vitamins E, such as almonds should be eaten on a regular basis. These vitamins are essential for the growth of hair.

  5. Use moisturising products: Depending on your hair type, you should use a shampoo and conditioner that suits your hair growth requirements. You may have dry and/or damaged hair/oily hair or even normal hair. It is extremely important to use those hair care products that suit your type.
