How to Locate the PCV Valve in a 1992 Mercury Car

    • 1). Place the 1992 Mercury vehicle in "Park." The vehicle should sit for a half-hour before beginning maintenance to ensure all components are cool to touch.

    • 2). Open the hood of the Mercury. Locate a black hose on the intake manifold; the hose is ¾ inch in diameter and runs to the engine crankcase.

    • 3). Follow the hose from the intake manifold to the engine crankcase. The PCV valve will be connected to the end of the hose on the engine crankcase. The valve will be sitting inside a white or black rubber grommet, depending on the Mercury model.
