Cross Country Ski Boots
Definition:
Like most Nordic equipment, cross country ski boots attach to the ski at the toe of the boot alone, allowing the boot to flex at the ball of the food much like a normal boot. There are four possible attachment systems: Salomon Nordic System (SNS), New Nordic Norm (NNN), 75mm Nordic Norm (three-pin binding), and d-ring.
Salomon Pilot binding is now used primarily for racing on account of its two connection points with give the skier more stability and control over the ski.
Cross country ski boots are primarily intended for flat terrain, optimized for efficiency and are lightweight. There are two different boots for cross country skiing to match the skis, general touring and metal-edge.
