How to Adjust an RC Helicopter
- 1). Land the helicopter and set it on an even surface. Attach a small piece of tape to the right blade and a different-colored piece of tape to the left to tell them apart.
- 2). Ask someone else to start the helicopter and let it hover just a few inches off the ground.
- 3). Look over the top of the hovering helicopter. As each blade spins, the tape should move in a circular path. If the colors of tape blend perfectly together in a blur (red and blue tape will produce a green blur) and there is only a single circle formed by them your blades are in alignment. However, if you see a solid color separate from the blurred band, take note of the color you see. This means that the blades are out of track and must be adjusted.
- 4). Tell your partner to land the plane and wait for the blades to completely stop spinning.
- 5). Raise or lower the offending blade with the same color band that you noticed by following the directions in your user's manual. Continue this procedure until only a single colored band is visible when the blades spin.
