How to Use a Bank Account Number to Identify a Bank

- 2). Open your computer's Internet browser and log onto RoutingNumbers.org.
- 3). Enter the nine-digit number into the box labeled, "Find a Bank by its Routing Number" then click on the "Search" button. The name and contact information for the bank will be displayed on the results page.
