    • 1). Read the directions on the plaster you purchased for the exact ratio of water to plaster. Typically, it is two parts plaster to one part water.

    • 2). Fill the bowl with water first, then slowly pour the plaster in, stirring as you pour.

    • 3). Stir until the mixture is thick. The best consistency is thick but still able to drip off the spoon. For soft plaster, you want the substances to be slightly runny. Add a little more water to make the solution smoother. This plaster will be softer and will take longer to dry, giving you more time to carve and sculpt.

    • 4). Pour the plaster into a mold and let it dry to a workable consistency. The longer it dries, the harder the plaster will become.
