Do you desire to learn how to bridle and saddle your equine? Here's how to do it.
The bridle is a tool designed to direct the equine.
The bridle incorporates both the headstall that holds the bit that goes in the mouth of the horse, and the reins that are attached to the bit.
How to Bridle As much as possible when bridling the equine, make it a simple process.
You can do this by undoing the bridle before putting it on your horse.
You would want the horse's head to go into the bridle without too much effort.
Ideally, the equine should not be tied when putting on the bridle.
Make certain that the horse is comfortable before trying to put on the bridle.
It can get spooked and do something that can endanger you.
Always consider the reins when putting on the bridle.
Placing them on your arm or horse's neck is a great idea.
Avoid stepping on them and get them broken or damaged.
Specially when they're expensive.
Always be certain that the headstall is always detangled and open.
Also, check that all is in good working order for the headstall.
Even though you can bridle on the right side of the horse, it is best to do it on the left side because that is where the clasps are.
Reach over the opposite side of the equine's neck with your right arm.
The left hand is used to open the bit while you grab the top of the bridle with the right hand.
Make sure that you hold and present the bit correctly so the horse will accept it without any fuss.
Since you have loosened the bridle, it will easily fit the equine's head and all you have to do is to fasten things appropriately.
How to Saddle your Horse Desensitization is key in saddling.
The horse is not used to have something on its back at first.
Therefore you need to make it used to it by repetitively putting on the saddle blanket (or saddle) on its back.
Saddling the equine starts with a blanket.
Position it to solidly cover the withers of your horse.
Having two or even three blankets are just fine.
It is just a matter of preference.
After the saddle blanket is the actual saddle.
If you are smaller in stature, throwing in the saddle can be quite a task but not impossible.
Experienced or not, always make sure that cinches, girths, and leather are set and ready before throwing in the saddle.
Saddling the horse is all about momentum.
It is more technique than raw strength.
Throw the saddle high enough to go over the equine's back but it should be placed gently and not slammed.
Technique and practice are important factors in horsemanship.
Remember that bridling and saddling your equine can only be perfected through repetition.
