Alaska Airline Pet Rules
- Arrangements for live animal transport should be made at least 24 hours in advance for domestic travel and one week in advance for international flights.
- At the time of booking, please provide an accurate weight and measure for both your pet and the size of the kennel you will be using to transport the animal. The kennel must not exceed 40 inches in length, 30 inches in height and 27 inches in width.
- The kennel must be non-collapsible and leak proof. Additionally, it must be large enough to permit the animal to comfortably stand, turn around, and sleep.
- The kennel must contain enough food and water for the duration of the journey. Containers must be clearly visible and securely attached to the inside of the kennel door.
- All cats and dogs must be weaned and at least 8 weeks old to travel. A health certificate signed by a licensed veterinarian and a travel permit will be required for each animal.
- Adult animals must be placed in separate kennels. Puppies and kittens that are less than 6 months old and weigh less than 20 pounds can be transported in groups of two.
