How to Use Cleaning Products for Eye Glasses
- 1). Consult your eye-care specialist regarding the type of material the lenses in your glasses are made from. Be aware of any special coatings on the lenses. Some lens treatments, such as anti-reflective coatings, require cleaning with special lens cleaners and microfiber polishing cloths. Using other types of cleaners could dull the coating and make the lenses appear smeared or foggy.
- 2). Rinse your eyeglasses under cool, running water to remove any dirt or debris. Apply cleaning solution or mild dishwashing liquid lightly to both surfaces of the lenses.
- 3). Rub the lenses gently between your fingers to remove any remaining dirt. Rinse the glasses thoroughly under cool, running water.
- 4). Pat the lenses with a soft, dry cotton cloth. Polish the lenses with a microfiber lens cleaning cloth until they are dry.
- 5). Store eyeglasses in a sturdy protective case whenever you are not wearing them. This will help prevent scratches and protect the frame.
