The educated/posho New York indie-popsters, who released their second album 'Contra' earlier this year, will play six shows, which includes a date in the intellectual capital of Wolverhampton.
The Wolves Civic plays host to the bright Columbia University band on Friday 26th November, where the band (probably) plan to discuss the great works of British literature, the avant-garde Expressionism movement in art, and the benefits of only employing men named 'Jeeves', backstage before and after the gig.
Unfortunately the band are also currently being sued by the female cover star of their second album - as her picture was used without permission, so she is demanding $2 million. But the band's management have insisted to Electric Banana that the band "...will not be, as you say, grumpy b*stards and shall play the gig to their usual high standard." Marvellous.
Ann Kirsten Kennis has no such problems talking - although she prefers to use her legal team. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, her lawyer Alan Neigher explained that the picture was a home Polaroid which the band had no right to use.
The photographer, Tod Brody, has also rubbished Kennis' claims. "Ms Kennis' claim that I didn't take the photo is blatantly false," he told EW. "I took the photo in 1983. The photo was in my possession the entire time, for 26 years, until it was delivered to Vampire Weekend."
Vampire Weekend have denied any wrong doing and plan to fight the claims in court. Finishing a hectic summer of festival appearances, the New York group have been legally prevented from speaking about the case.
Tickets are on available for all the social classes - with even members of the working-class allowed to attend the event according to our contact at the venue. Result!
