    • 2). Fill out the form. The default search is for a round-trip fare. If you enter city names into the "From" and "To" fields, the site will suggest valid airport codes. You can check the "include nearby airport" box to search all the airports near a location, or click the "custom" link to select only specific local airports (See Reference 2). When you've completed the form, click "Search"

    • 3). Kayak searches more than 200 online sources and returns the results for fare information (See Reference 1). The sliders and checkboxes on the left side of the results page can refine your search. Sort the results by clicking any of the column heading links.

    • 4). Kayak does not sell fares but helps you find the sites that do (See Reference 2). When you've chosen a flight, click the "Select" link underneath the price to reveal the sites where you can purchase the fare.
