How to Make a Schoolhouse Out of a Cardboard Box
- 1). Cut the top and bottom flaps off the cardboard box so that you are left with four sides.
- 2). Draw a roofline all the way around the sides of the box with a marker, making sure each short end has a triangular shape for the roof peak.
- 3). Cut along the lines with scissors or an exacto knife.
- 4). Draw a large square with a line down its center for double doors on one of the short sides of the box. Use an exacto knife to cut along the top, bottom and middle lines, leaving the two side vertical lines for hinges.
- 5). Cut a large rectangular piece of cardboard 1 to 2 inches longer and wider than the box. Fold the rectangle in half lengthwise. This will be the roof.
- 6). Mark all of the windows, and cut them out with scissors or an exacto knife.
- 7). Paint the outside of the school building red and the roof black.
- 8). Let everything dry completely before using for play.
