Suzanne Somers Bread Machine: The Instructions
- 1). Clean the bread pan and kneading paddle gently with watered-down cloths. Dry the pan and paddle off with dry cloths.
- 2). Place the paddle, with its arrow pointing upwards, into the pan's shaft; push the paddle all the way down into the shaft. Leave the pan standing on a flat surface, such as a table.
- 3). Add the ingredients needed for your recipe. For example, for a 1 1/2 pound loaf of white bread, add 1 cup of water to the pan, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 3 tablespoons of vegetable shortening, 2 3/4 cups of bread flour and 2 teaspoons of the included bread machine yeast. Stir the ingredients gently with a wooden spoon until they are blended together.
- 4). Align the pan's arrows with the corresponding ones in the machine and place the pan inside; press it down firmly to lock it in place.
- 5). Plug the machine into a functioning power outlet, and close the cover to lock it in place.
- 6). Press the "Program Select" button on the machine's control panel once to highlight the desired recipe. Press the "Crust" button to select the type of crust you want; the options are "Light," "Medium" or "Dark."
- 7). Press the "Start/Cancel" button to make your bread; the control panel display will tell you how long it will take to cook.
- 8). Press and hold down the "Start/Cancel" button for three seconds when the bread is finished; this action turns the machine off. Open the machine's cover, pull the bread pan out with a hot pad, and shake the loaf onto a cutting board. Wait 10 minutes for the bread to cool, and cut it with a knife to serve.
