What Are The Road Blocks to Happiness
You could be happy or you could be miserable but the amount of work is the same.
Everyone is perusing happiness and yet very few experience true happiness in their life time that lingers.
Happiness is to do with knowing what you want and having what you want.
Most importantly knowing what you want should come deep within yourself not from your head.
It is more of a state of mind.
Feeling happy on the other hand is momentary.
By definition happy is knowing that your life is in balance and nothing bad is happening to you at this moment.
Most everyone wants to achieve happiness in their life and yet two major road blocks stops many from getting there.
Hence, happiness becomes more of a desire or an unattainable wish.
The road blocks are; A-Understanding core feelings and how they work B-Established negative core beliefs In my seminars, I make the following distinction in order to eliminate confusion.
Happiness is a state of mind while happy is the feeling you experience in the present.
This definition alone allows people to approach happiness from a different point of view.
Without understanding the definition of feelings and how they work, happiness is NOT possible.
This is the primary reason for most human suffering.
This is a verifiable science based fact and I will explain the process in detail.
We are all a product of our beliefs and unfortunately most of our beliefs tends to be negative and self-sabotaging in nature.
These beliefs are primarily stored in our subconscious mind which makes it near impossible to change them through conscious process.
This is why even the most intelligent, educated person keeps repeating certain behaviors/mistakes despite suffering negative consequences.
Trying harder, will power and positive affirmations seems to fail when it comes to changing these established mistaken beliefs.
Almost all negative chatter comes from our subconscious mind and despite the tremendous conscious effort to think positive to turn is around seems to have a very little impact.
Many people are raised with magical expectations and relentlessly searching for that magic bullet, such as when I meet Mr.
right I will be happy, such myths coupled with distorted beliefs leads the person to the path of disappointment rather than happiness.
When a person feels emotionally empty, they will have greater need to invest in their ego to feel good.
Ego depends on materialism/externalism and thrives on instant gratifications.
Belief also reinforces ego that happiness can only come from outside means.
This insatiable ego depends on, more money, bigger homes etc.
even though these are nothing but short term fixes, providing only borrowed happiness.
For some, religion plays a major role in happiness.
The impact of religion can limit ones happiness or can be a great source of it.
The influence of religion starts in early life within the family system especially if it is based around blind faith, will have lifelong ramifications.
Seeking god for happiness, or perpetual repenting and living in a state of guilt for distancing ourselves from being happy is a common occurrence.
Work places have their own a set of problems and that the most common belief is that emotions and work place can't coexist.
So many workers shy away from sharing any emotion including happy.
The other problem has to do with personal dishonesty, not perusing what makes people happy.
This is the primary reason for the job dissatisfaction, feeling unhappy with what they are doing.
Although happiness seems to be a personal choice, many do not seem to have that choice due to their approach.
Logical approach to an emotional problem is one of the main reasons for the confusion and struggle for attaining happiness.
And yet many employ the logic strategy and wonder why it fails them repeatedly.
However, if you take the steps to achieve emotional mastery, you may be pleasantly surprised that happiness is within your grasp.
