Early detection is the key to all matters of Breast Health.
The earlier you discover something, the earlier you can see a doctor, and in the worst case the scenario the earlier detected the better the survival rate.
This is important as numbers are increasing.
Breast health is very important and should not be underestimated.
Knowing about your cleavage and what is normal is for you.
It is vital that you know your breasts intimately, so if you experiences changes you will notice them as early as possible.
Early detection gives you a much greater chance of survival against cancer.
This is a very important fact and cannot be understated.
By knowing what is normal for you and by understanding about lumps, nipple changes and pain, you will be in the right position to make the right decision at the right time.
Knowledge is power; lack of understanding of these matters can lead to delays in getting tested and in some case confirmed with having cancer, this delay could be costly.
You need to have an understanding of the following:
  • Generalised breast lumpiness
  • Fibroadenoma
  • Cysts
  • Fat necrosis
  • Nipple inversion
  • Nipple discharge
  • Nipple changes
These are the main changes that affect you and are signs of what is going on, they are not all bad signs some are normal developments and changes your body naturally goes through.
Monthly hormonally changes affect you constantly and can be mis interrupted as issues.
There is a five point breast awareness code: 1.
Understand what is normal for you 2.
Understand what changes to your breasts to be aware off 3.
Look and feel regularly 4.
Discuss any changes with your doctor as soon as possible 5.
Attend, regular breast screening If you notice any change in your breast, please consult with your doctor as soon as possible.
Please bear in mind that most changes in your breast are harmless, but unless you know do something and at least ask the question of your doctor.
If you are concerned about a breast change, please visit your doctor and ask for the changes in your breast to be explained to you.
If you are unhappy with the explanation or diagnosis, please get a second opinion, your health is the most important thing you have.
