How to Remove Cherry Chapstick From the Carpet
- 1). Scrape a butter knife or spoon over the carpet to loosen and pull off any excess Chapstick. Use short scraping motions rather than long drags across the carpet to avoid smearing the loosened particles into other areas of the carpet.
- 2). Vacuum the area to remove any small, dry particles of Chapstick from the carpet. Don’t press the vacuum into the carpet as you work.
- 3). Apply dry cleaning solvent to a cloth and dab at the stain, pressing and lifting over the carpet. If you don’t have dry cleaning solvent, mix a solution of 2 cups cold water and 1 tbsp. liquid dish detergent.
- 4). Continue to apply solvent or soap cleaner to the carpet until it has been absorbed and the stain is lifted. Chapstick should appear on the cloth as it lifts from the carpet.
- 5). Dab the carpet area with a clean cloth with just water over the absorbed cleaning solution to dilute and remove the cleaner. If you notice more Chapstick, repeat Steps 3 and 4 until it is gone.
- 6). Blot the area dry with a third cloth, pressing downward into the carpet to lift excess water. Continue until the carpet is as dry as possible.
