World"s Best Joke

When it comes for imagination, scientists can amaze people with the nature of experiments they do.
Sometimes you may think that they have nothing better to do than amusing themselves and others, pushing the limits of the science.
But most of the times, something good emerges from their experiments, and sometimes, they're only done just because it's always good to know, even though it's not always useful to your everyday life.
A very interesting experiment scientists decided to do involved...
laughter.
The experiment was called Laughlab, its target was to find out which was the world's best joke and required a few months of serious study.
They put 10,000 jokes on a website and visitors were invited to vote for the joke they liked most.
The experiment was one of the largest of this kind and it implied the participation of a few hundred thousands of people.
The Laughlab experiment was more intricate than one may think, as scientists studied the sense of humour of different nationalities and of men and women.
They observed that there were some differences regarding the favourite joke of men and women, as men preferred the aggressive jokes, putting down women, and involving a sexual innuendo, while women preferred jokes involving word play.
Anyway, prior to the experiment ending, the winner was obvious.
It was a joke about Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous and widely loved characters - Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson - the one with the tent.
Well, it seems that the British humour is not so bad.
