How to Prime a Lawn-Boy Mower
- 1). Unscrew the fuel tank cap on the Lawn-Boy mower. Fill the fuel tank with a brand-name regular unleaded gasoline. Unscrew the oil's dipstick and pull it from the engine. Wipe the dipstick with the rag and fully insert it.
- 2). Remove the oil dipstick and check the level. Add more oil to the fill tube if the oil reading is in the "Add" section. Raise the oil level slowly up to the "Full" mark on the dipstick. Reinstall the dipstick.
- 3). Move the Lawn-Boy mower to a level area of ground. Locate the primer bulb, which is a small, often red, bulb, usually located on the left side of most Lawn-Boy engines.
- 4). Press firmly and release the bulb fully three times. Hold the bulb in each time for one second, allowing the suction to work. Press the primer bulb in five times if the outside air temperature is below 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
