Texas Hold Em Tips
1. Know When to call
If your first cards are something terrible like 7 2 you might want to think twice about calling it. In fact you probably want to just fold it. In most cases it will probably work out against you. However when you get something like pocket Aces, well you have to call or even raise that.
2. Avoid Raise Fests
There are going to be times when two or more people think they have the best hand, or at least want everyone to think they do. They just keep raising and re-raising. It isn't fun being in the middle of a raise fest, especially when you are going for a draw. If possible try to identify them before they start up and get out early.
Now if you have a hand of course stay in and be thankful someone else is raising the pot for you.
3. Notice Patterns
Everyone has their own pattern, something that they do over and over again that you can use to figure out what they have. Notice everything; it gets easier as you play more. Sometimes I will just be having a good time and then I notice something.
4. Pay attention to Yourself
Just like you are looking to find out if someone else is bluffing or not other people are looking at you to see if you are. So what do you do? Pay attention to yourself, try to control all emotions you may have and control any habit you may have. Also mix things up here. If you raised last time you had a good had try to check this time. It will be harder for them to find a pattern and they might just try to bluff you out.
