Tickler English Cheddaris a type of nutty cheddar cheese which gets it's name for being a ‘cheeky' company in the United Kingdom and Ireland. This cheese is special to the Taw Valley region of the UK. The regional cheese has it's reputation, as a sweet and tangy nuttiness spreading globally over the years. Typically English in its taste the cheese is considered a gourmet's delight. 

Tickler English Cheddaris made from cow's milk that is pasteurized before the cheese making process begins.  The milk is exclusively collected from the milk fields of the ‘lush Devon' region giving the cheese that special and specific taste, native to the region. The milk harvested from these milk fields are then sent out to the creamery owned by Tickler. The creamery is located in the Taw Valley and the actual Tickler English cheese making process begins here.

The process usually aims to produce 40 pound blocks with each production cycle. The blocks of cheese are made by using cultures which are native to the region. 

The cultures which have existed in this area have helped the Tickler Company retain the distinctive taste and flavors of the cheese they make. 

The blocks of cheese use any of the traditional culture varieties and soon the 40-pound blocks of cheese are ready to be moved to the next stage. 

The fact which makes this cheese so flavorful and intense is the second stage of the processing. The blocks are now let to mature for over a year-and-a-half.

The lengthy process of aging ensures the cheese is full of flavor. The taste ranges from sweet to tangy and ensuring it remains an award-winning cheese. Tickler English Cheddaris best paired with a natively available beer. However, given the fact that this type of beer is hard to get in global markets, experts recommend it is pairing with other beers. The beer that goes well with the Tickler English Cheddar is ‘bitter blond' and robust. This will help to balance the nuttiness and sweetness which is so distinctive of Tickler's Cheddar Cheese. Not surprising then, that it continues to rule the roost as an awarding-winning cheese from the UK.
