Trading Mindset

Over my years of trading I have found it really interesting to see how different people trade and interpret the signals.
There are the touchy feely people like myself that will almost caress the trade, feel how it is moving and make decisions based on our feelings.
Then there are the mechanics that want precise entry and exit points and will not deviate from them, no matter how the trade is developing they will stick to the game plan.
Many people have also asked if I can teach them exactly when to get in and when to get out but I am not a broker and so legally I am not allowed to give out these direct instructions.
For me, flexibility is one of the key aspects of trading as is adaptability; you may say that they are similar and I would agree.
If and when you are in a trade, you have to be able to adapt to the way the market is moving.
This is true for what ever your chosen market is whether it be forex, stocks, indices, etc.
Be flexible in your approach; allow yourself the time to think about the trade.
I know that at times this may not be easy but as you practice it will get easier and easier.
I believe if you have the correct mental approach and preparation then you will have enough time.
Don't let your emotions overrule what you see.
It is sometimes easier to press the button to enter a trade, and not as easy to press the same button to exit, even when you know that to exit is the correct thing to do.
This is true for when you are both in and out of profit.
For my own and for the benefit of anyone who cares to read it I write a blog everyday.
By writing this I reaffirm why I have traded in a certain way and I gain insights and learning's for the future.
It helps me focus and re-understand what have I have done.
I would recommend doing this to anyone, it really does help you focus and of course give you something to look back on and see how far you've come.
So to sum up, stay flexible, leave your emotions to one side, understand your trading.
Only you are responsible for any gain or any loss.
Take control.
