How to Put Open Sights on a Rifle
- 1). Lay the rifle on a table or work bench after clearing it of any ammunition.
- 2). Remove the set-screw from the side of the front sight. Either remove the screw by hand, or use a screwdriver to loosen its threads.
- 3). Place the front sight on the end of the accessory rail above the barrel. Place the sight as far forward as possible.
- 4). Insert the set-screw on the side of the front sight; turn it clockwise until tight. Use the screwdriver to rotate the screw an additional quarter-turn.
- 5). Remove the set-screw from the side of the rear sight.
- 6). Place the rear sight on the accessory rail, as close to the stock as possible.
- 7). Insert the set-screw on the side of the front sight; turn it clockwise until tight. Use the screwdriver to rotate the screw an additional quarter-turn.
