Crafts for a Campfire Party
- 1). Make paperweights together. This is a campfire craft that anyone can do. All that is necessary for this craft is magazine clippings of photographs, rocks (which can be collected easily around the camping site), paintbrushes and craft glue (preferably white or clear in color). Before starting to make the paperweight, clean a rock off entirely and then match it up with a suitable picture from a magazine. Then, paint the photograph down on to the rock with the glue (make sure to water the glue down significantly beforehand).
- 2). Create tie dye fans. The items that are necessary for this campfire craft include a Japanese-style paper fan, fabric spray paint, newspaper, glue and glitter. Before working, cover your working space with the use of newspaper. Then gently spray over the paper fan with a color or two of fabric spray paint. For additional pizazz, glue on some glitter.
- 3). Make customized water bottles. One item that is absolutely necessary for any camping excursion is bottled water. A quick, fun and creative way for people to have fun over a campfire is by creating customized water bottles. This craft calls for a design-free sports bottle and many different colors of either permanent markers or painting pens. Individualize the bottle by putting your name on, and then draw on some designs that match your personality.
- 4). Get a pebble pet. Pebble pets are, essentially, pet rocks. The craft calls for white paint, felt pens, varnish, glue, a pompom and different colored paints. Collect some smooth rocks from around the camping site. Wash the stone thoroughly and then dry it. Paint the rock white and allow it to dry out completely. Then paint over the white with a background color and dry it. Then add on some distinguishing markings over the "body" of the rock (such as leopard spots), as well as the face in the front. Cover the rock with varnish. Lastly, add some effects. For example, for those making rabbit pebble pets, attach a pompom to make it resemble a bunny.
