Anxiety Disorder, Social - Treatment That Works

Several of the people I've worked with recently have told me privately that they suffer from varying degrees of Social Anxiety Disorder.
Treatment
for each of them varies from no treatment to drug therapy and regular counseling.
Since I've had my own challenges with Agoraphobia, Anxiety and Panic, I can relate to what they're going through.
No two people are alike, and no two experiences of these problems are the same.
One guy has "settled" for a drug therapy that gives him some annoying side effects, but allows him to function in his job.
Another woman quit working and is staying at home, rarely venturing out and is getting worse.
Two other people just cope with it day by day, with a certain amount of dread that a really bad episode is just around the corner.
All of them find it hard to listen to any advice about dealing with their symptoms in a way that they didn't think of themselves.
They've become "hard of listening" when it comes to suggestions or new ideas when it comes to their problem.
One of the coping mechanisms most of them developed was ignoring advice from others, which was often a good idea.
Those "others" didn't know what the hell they were talking about! If you haven't yet realized that there are ways to stop and even prevent the disabling effects of Social Anxiety Disorder before they happen, feel free to find out more at my blog, listed below in the resource box.
You can explore some of the better ways to manage your symptoms and find something beyond "treatment".
