    • 1). Insert the height adjustment panels attached to the top of the pet door panel into the top track of your sliding glass door. Push up on the pet door panel and snap the bottom of the pet panel into the bottom track on the sliding door.

    • 2). Push the pet door panel against the sliding glass door jamb and check to see if it fits flush against the jamb without gaps. Remove the original sliding glass door latch from the door jamb to obtain a flush fit if necessary.

    • 3). Drill four 1/8-inch holes through the top of the pet door panel to permanently install the plastic height adjustment panels to the top front and back of the pet door panel. Use the pre-punched holes in the plastic adjustment panels to guide the 1/8-inch metal drill bit into the metal of the pet door panel, making two holes on the interior side and two holes in the exterior side of the panel. Attach the height adjustment panel with four No. 6 by 1/2-inch sheet metal screws.

    • 4). Attach the pet door panel to your sliding glass door frame. Depending on the manufacturer of your glass door, choose from three different methods of permanent installation. Drill two 1/8-inch holes at the top and bottom of the sliding glass door frame and through the pet door panel. Insert No. 6 by 1/2-inch sheet metal screws in each hole. Drill holes as before, but attach L-brackets to the panel with sheet metal screws. Attach the L-brackets to the wood frame around the glass door frame with wood screws. Drill four to six 1/8-inch holes down the sliding glass door frame and through the pet door panel. Secure the panel to the jamb with sheet metal screws.

    • 5). Clean the front and back edges of your sliding glass door with an all-purpose cleaner. Dry the edges of the glass door thoroughly with paper towels.

    • 6). Peel the backing from a self-adhesive glass door sweep. Press the sweep onto the back edge of the door ensuring the sweep comes into contact with the stationary glass door. The door sweep forms a seal between the stationary glass door and the sliding glass door.

    • 7). Install peel and stick weather stripping against the front edge of the sliding glass door.

    • 8). Position the locking side of the pet door panel latch assembly against the edge of the pet door panel on the same side as the door opening. Make sure the sliding glass door handle does not interfere with the latch assembly. Mark the location of the latch assembly screw holes onto the pet door panel.

    • 9). Drill 7/32-inch holes directly through the pet door panel with 7/32-inch metal drill bit. Push binding posts through the holes in the pet door panel from the outside to the inside of the panel. The binding posts must fit No. 8-32 by 3/4-inch flat head machine screws and be long enough to fit through the panel and the latch. Thread the locking side of the latch assembly onto the binding and secure the latch with two No. 8-32 by 3/4-inch machine screws.

Shut the glass door against the pet door panel. Position the other half of the latch assembly on the sliding glass door next to the locking side of the assembly. Flip the latch on the locking side of the assembly where it secures to the side positioned on the glass door. Mark the two screw hole locations onto the glass door frame.
