    Lake Weatherford

    • Featuring more than 1,100 acres of year-round fishing, Lake Weatherford is known for its largemouth bass, white bass, crappie, channel catfish and sunfish. The Trinity River feeds into the lake, which dips down to depths of about 40 feet. Visitors can fish from the shoreline or rent fishing boats at the marina. Visitors can also take in the sights by car or motorcycle on a winding scenic road around the lake.

    Mineral Wells State Park and Trailway

    • Mineral Wells Trailway, located very close to downtown Weatherford, is a 20-mile trail for equestrians, hikers and cyclists alike. The trail winds over the Brazos River, past Mineral Wells Lake and through the countryside, which is especially scenic during the springtime wildflower-blooming period. In the adjacent Mineral Wells State Park, tourists can participate in many outdoor activities, such as boating, rock climbing and hiking.

    Downtown Weatherford Town Square

    • Downtown Weatherford features a charming town square anchored by historical Parker County Courthouse. Antique shops and small restaurants line the streets surrounding the square offering visitors a wealth of shopping and dining options. There is also a local farmer's market within walking distance of the square.

    Bayou Bob's Brazos River Rattlesnake Ranch

    • Tourists who want to see live, venomous Texas snakes can get up close and personal with them at Bayou Bob's Brazos River Rattlesnake Ranch. The ranch has all kinds of slithering reptiles, including rattlesnakes, coral snakes, copperheads, water moccasins and anacondas. Take a tour or visit the museum and petting zoo. Visitors can take home snakeskin earrings and key chains from the gift shop to remember their trip.

    Seasonal Activities

    • Weatherford also offers many seasonal events and activities. Parker County was designated as the Peach Capital of Texas. As such, the town holds an annual peach festival that draws thousands of people. Weatherford also holds chili cook-offs, Fourth of July parades and other small-town events.
