A Guide on NYC Dining
As a foodie living in Murray Hill (which consists of the East 30's in NYC), I felt the need to share some of the areas best places to grab a bite or take home some grub.
There are so many different places to choose from and if you're not familiar with the neighborhood, you may end up wasting your time on something average.
Let's start with Japanese food.
Chado Sushi has recently opened in the area and is superb.
Unfortunately, it is expensive but it's darn tasty! The partner/executive chef formerly worked at Sushi of Gari, which is one of the best in NYC.
So by no surprise, expect great things.
They're known for their sauces they use and their Omikase, so take a chance and try out whatever the chef suggests.
Everyone once in a while, we need to spoil ourselves with some junk food.
Well, if it's your time to do this, then take advantage of Carl's Cheesesteaks.
I've had many cheesesteaks in NY and in Philadelphia, but this is arguably one of the best in both cities.
Go with the "whiz wit.
" Mexican food is one my favorites.
I'm talkin' high end Mexican food, like they make at Biblioteca on Third Avenue.
They make amazing fish tacos and if I had to eat one thing everyday, it would be these tacos.
This compliments their incredible list of high end Tequila as well.
Chinese food on Sunday nights is one of the things I look forward to every week.
After searching for years, I finally came across Grand Sichuan on Lexington Avenue.
They make the classic American Chinese dishes, but I've discovered some of their traditional Chinese dishes, which happen to be excellent.
It makes it easier if you're with a friend who is of Asian decent.
If you want something more romantic, Barbes is a true gem in the area.
It's away from most of the action, so most people don't know it.
However, it's always crowded for good reason.
This French Moroccan cuisine is priced well, with main courses up to $30.
The staff is also extremely accommodating.
Large parties must attend Patsy's Pizzeria.
This family style Italian restraint makes great pizza, pasta and salads.
It's very easy to go with big groups and it's a laid back atmosphere.
Nobody will leave hungry! Now get out there and go eat! This list will leave your stomach very satisfied as I've been eating in the neighborhood for years.
