With the ever growing population, we are competing for even scarcer resources and driving massive amounts of pollution from the waste. In the next few years our planet will be unrecognizable due to various concerns. It is imperative for us to evaluate the status of our planet and to find valuable solutions to lessen the harmful effects in our environment. Recent developments made its break towards providing an eco-friendly effect by utilizing waste as a major component for generating electricity. It involves a unique technology known as the refuse derived fuel technology or RDF technology.

This technology evaluates waste by segregating, screening, recycling and treating waste for the conversion of waste to energy. The refuse derived fuel process designates special conditions by utilizing waste as feedstock for a cleaner energy conversion. It responsibly addresses the composition of waste material to generate a cleaner yet sustainable source of energy at the same time capturing harmful emissions that could add to the causes of climate change. The technology contains a thermal decomposition chamber wherein combustion of waste takes place. Waste containing high calorific value is inserted into this chamber to be converted into eco-fuel.

Waste that is commonly discarded into various municipal landfill sites are transported in MRF facilities where they utilize RDF technology for energy from waste is achieved. Waste is fed into the thermal decomposition tank as feedstock where multi-combustion and controlled amounts of oxygen are applied to achieve a liquid state. This process is done under a sealed chamber where no emissions are set off into the atmosphere. Unlike those of fossil fuel generated electricity, the conversion through the use of these technology directly stresses the need to reduce harmful emission that could lead to environmental depletion.

The elimination of waste and reduction of harmful green house gases is a remedial step towards saving the environment at the same time preserving our natural resources. It lessens the amount of airborne contaminants that damages the environment while endowing a cleaner energy source that would suffice our needs. A refuse derived fuel technology (RDF technology)alters the way we produce our energy source today while ensuring future generations a cleaner and flourishing environment to live in. Alternative energy sources are undertakings that we must pursue in order to avoid disastrous effects brought by climate change. Waste to energy conversion offers a cleaner, sustainable and cost efficient energy source without depleting our resources.
