    ASRT Entry-Level Scholarships

    • The American Society of Radiologic Technologists Education and Research Foundation offers several entry-level scholarships for students who are not yet employed in the field. To be eligible, a student must be a U.S. citizen and must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a scale of 4.0. Available entry-level student scholarships include the $2,500 Jerman-Cahoon Student Scholarship, the $4,000 Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship and the $5,000 Varian Radiation Therapy Scholarship, as of 2011.

    ASRT Professional-Level Scholarships

    • The ASRT Education and Research Foundation also offers professional-level scholarships each year to students who have already entered the profession and are seeking further training. To be eligible for ASRT professional-level scholarships, an applicant must be a member of the ASRT, and must be currently licensed as a radiologic technologist. Professional-level scholarships available from the ASRT include the $5,000 Elekta Radiation Therapy Educators Scholarship, the $5,000 Medical Imaging Educators Scholarship, the $5,000 Siemens Clinical Advancement Scholarship and the $1,500 Professional Advancement Scholarship, as of 2011.

    PHEAA New Economy Technology Scholarship Program

    • The PHEAA New Economy Technology Scholarship Program is available to residents of the state of Pennsylvania who have a high school diploma and are pursuing training in a field related to health, including radiation technology. In 2011, this scholarship was available in amounts of to $1,000 per year. To be eligible, a student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above and must commit to working full time in the state of Pennsylvania one year for each year of support received.

    ISSRT Elizabeth Bray Scholarship

    • The Illinois State Society of Radiologic Technologists (ISSRT) offers scholarship support to students pursuing training in radiation technology through the Elizabeth Bray Scholarship. In 2011, this scholarship was awarded in amounts of at least $500. To be eligible, a student must have a grade point average of no less than 3.0 on a scale of 4.0, and must also have been a member of the ISSRT for at least 60 days prior to applying for the scholarship. The primary consideration is financial need.
