How to Trim Angles for Crown Molding
- 1). Place the crown molding so that it is upside down near the location for trimming. Put the molding so that it is firmly against the miter saw's table and the vertical fence. The angles on the crown molding should line up with both surfaces. Hold firmly in place.
- 2). Angle the saw at 45 degrees. Make a test cut to ensure the angle is correct. If correct, the bottom of the molding is the longest and the top is the shortest. If incorrect, check the angle on the saw, make adjustments to the molding and cut again.
- 3). Cut the other edges of the crown molding to trim them to the appropriate 45-degree angle. Repeat the process of angling for each piece.
- 4). Install as preferred around the room. Once cut, the angled edges will line up appropriately for installation at corners.
