Are you a candidate for the Brazilian butt lift?

The "Brazilian butt lift" is an augmentation procedure which is designed to yield a more prominent and youthful buttock shape.
There are 2 ways that a buttocks augmentation can be performed:
1. "Brazilian butt lift" is done by fat injections or fat transfer from "donor fat" taken from other areas of the body
2. Butt implants done using silicone implants

More often than not, if the prospective patient has enough fat in other areas, then a "Brazilian butt lift" is preferred. There is less chance of infection, and another benefit to the patient is that the areas from which the fat was harvested is now leaner, as to achieve the desired look typically takes 100's of purified fat injections.
However, if the prospective patient is too thin, or does not have enough fat in their stomach, lower back or thighs to fully create the desired look, then silicone implants can be inserted using a small incision along the crack of the buttocks.
Before you sit with a Doctor for consultation, ask yourself the following questions to determine if buttocks augmentation surgery or a Brazilian butt lift is right for you:
1. How old are you? Do you smoke?
2. Why do you want buttocks augmentation?
3. Are you aware of some of the risks associated with buttocks augmentation surgery? (possibility of infection - not just at the augmentation site, but from where the donor fat was suctioned)
4. Have you had a difficult time keeping your weight balanced?
5. Though the augmentation affects are typically permanent, if not done properly, you may have to have future injections are you willing to accept that risk?
6. If for whatever reason you need or want to have the implants removed in the future, your physical appearance may be altered negatively and you may need additional cosmetic reconstruction, are you willing to accept that risk?
7. Are you willing to go to post-operative visits and follow the Doctors advice before, during and after your buttocks enhancement surgery?
8. To achieve maximum results, it is recommended you not sit directly on your buttocks for at least 3 weeks....are you able to take this much time away from your normal activities (i.e. work, kids etc)?
Depending on how you answered these questions, you may or may not be a good candidate for buttocks augmentation surgery. Certainly discuss your concerns and questions with your Doctor during your initial consultation.
