Ohio's major cities have plenty of standard hotels for vacationers and business travelers. However, some hotels offer guests unique and distinct experiences that make them stand out in the crowded hospitality field. Historic and period hotels give guests a sense of a history with interesting architecture, vintage furniture and retro interiors. - The Quaker Square Inn, at the University of Akron Hotel, is located in former silos that used to hold more than 1.5 million grain bushels. Each room is perfectly round, reflecting the silo shape. The historic hotel is on the National Register of Historic Places list. Hotel amenities include complimentary breakfast, a fitness center, free newspapers in the lobby, and Wi-Fi. The hotel can arrange Golf, Zoo, Cuyahoga Valley Railroad and Rock and Roll of Fame packages for guests. The Quaker Square Inn is in downtown Akron, less than a mile from the city's convention center and close to several other attractions in the area.
