Why my Motorola Droid is better then my iPhone
This phone has met my expectations for a Smartphone. You can search on it for directions with the free mapping software, or just search Google for a name/number or directions. Every few words said while searching Google by voice were missed but partly because of me talking fast and 2 words were turned into 1 because I didn't wait to say them. I slowed down and tried again, and voila it works fine.
A few great things about this phone
- Absolutely Amazing Screen, bigger than the iPhone. For those of you with screen envy
- Good touch sensitivity, but not perfect, getting used to it, no multi-touch by the way.
- Good selection of FREE Applications in the Market. And yes these have now been updated for the droid.
- Free turn by turn mapping with Google, and voice searching, nothing like never typing to look up a number again.
- Perfect Google Voice functionality, add a Google voice number and text with it, to hide your number.
- Threaded text messaging, see your texts like a chat, like AIM or MSN.
- Streaming Pandora radio across 3G coverage, and across wifi. Great app by the way, and free!
- Choice of touch screen keyboard or slide out physical QWERTY keyboard
A few downsides
- Sound quality of call
- Weak built in Facebook application, hoping for a change on this. Or I will just use the online web based one.
- Battery drains fast
To sum it up, overall this phone measures up against the iPhone in function and style. You also need no special software to run this phone, plugin with included usb cable, which is part of the charger, pick the USB option on the phone screen, and your good to go. You can get your music from anywhere, including adding music from your hard drive if you have downloaded from other sources.
