• Purchase packs of paper doilies in different shapes, colors and sizes. Other supplies to have on hand for paper doily crafts include plain and fancy scissors, ruler, pencil, markers, hot glue gun and glue sticks, narrow satin ribbon, small plastic buttons and tiny fake flowers.
  
  

Doily Craft Ideas

• Use a lacy paper doily to enhance a photograph of a child or loved one as a background in a frame with glass
  
  Make a wreath of little twinkling lights inserted into white doilies gathered into small cones, attached with hot glue. Spray fabric stiffener on both sides of assorted small white doilies. Let them dry and then decorate a window with double-sided tape. They also make themed party decorations when suspended from ceilings with thin satin ribbon.
  
  Make pretty lavender sachets with paper doilies. Using a hot glue gun, glue the edges of two small doilies together, leaving a 3-inch opening at the top. Fill with lavender and seal the opening. Attach the ends of a strip of satin ribbon (folded in half) at the top with hot glue, along with embellishments such as tiny fake flowers and little plastic buttons.
  
  Create a paper doily table cover. Lay a sufficient number of doilies over a dark-colored tablecloth so the doily edges slightly overlap. Secure the doilies together with a few dabs of hot glue.
  
  Wedding or party favors can also be made with doilies cut in half and rolled into a cone and secured with hot glue. Decorate with embellishments and fill with candy or treats.
