Hi, I'm Toni Drugmand with Sit Means Sit Dog Training where a trained dog is a happy dog. How to keep multiple dogs calm in your house. For this exercise we're gonna teach, we're gonna talk about a crate and we're gonna talk about a place board. As you can see from my fine examples my dogs are calm in the house. The crate is an excellent way, it's a safe containment system that the dog's feel comfortable. They're away from the hustle and bustle of the excitement of the household and training your dog to be calm in the house is really helpful using a crate. The pack mentality of multiple dogs will override the individual dogs desire to listen to you. So using a crate will be really instrumental in helping you keep them calm. A crate is a safe place, a den from their natural perspective and once they learn to be put in a crate they get so they actually like it and feel very comfortable. Place training is where your obedience is gonna make you shine. As an owner you're gonna be a happy, happy camper because we're gonna be able to use the place exercise to bring the dog into the house where they're things going on perhaps company has just strolled in and you want the dogs to be calm. They've learned individually this exercise which is to stay on the places and, and hang out there and this actually helps them learn to be calm. As soon as we feel like the dog's calm and we want to give him the permission to come off the place we can release him and that at any point we can redirect him back to the place but they get so that they really enjoy this exercise and you'll enjoy it as well and that's how we teach a dog to be calm when there's multiple dogs in the household. Thanks for joining me today I'm Tony Drugmand, and remember a trained dog is a happy dog.
