    • 1). Cut 15, 10-yard lengths of 1/4-inch wide ribbon or purchase the ribbon in 10 yard rolls. This will make assembling your ribbon lei much more manageable.

    • 2). Pull the blossoms off the ends of 15 silk flower stems.

    • 3). Cut a 60-inch length of crochet thread and thread it onto an embroidery needle. Tie a knot 4 inches from one end.

    • 4). Sew a running stitch down the center length of one 10-yard ribbon length. Space the stitches 2 inches apart.

    • 5). Slide the stitched ribbon to the knotted end of the crochet thread, allowing the ribbon to bunch and fold into loops around the thread.

    • 6). Heat the tip of your needle in a candle flame. There is a plastic nub on the bottom of the flower blossoms. Insert the hot needle through the plastic, across the width of the plastic nub. Slide the flower down to the bunched ribbon.

    • 7). Add the remaining ribbon and flower blossoms in the same way, ending with a flower blossom.

    • 8). Remove the needle from the thread. Bring the thread ends together and tie into a knot. Apply a dot of craft glue over the knot to prevent it from loosening. Trim the ends of the knot.
