- 1). Open a Web browser, and navigate to the YouTube website. Select the video you wish to embed into your site. If you are using your own video, upload the content to YouTube first by following the site's dialog boxes and allowing several hours for the videos to be processed by YouTube.
- 2). Click the "Embed" button located beneath the video, and copy the HTML code that appears in the window.
- 3). Paste the code into a text document to use later in your WordPress post.
- 4). Access your WordPress Dashboard using your administrator's login information.
- 5). Go to the Post section, and select the "Add New" link. Once the text entry box appears, select the "HTML" tab next to the "View" tab at the top right-hand side of the text entry box.
- 6). Return to your text document, and copy the embed code obtained from YouTube.
- 7). Paste the HTML code into your HTML text window in your new post, and add any additional text or content.
- 8). Click the "Publish" button, and visit the page where your new post was published. Test the video to ensure it loads properly and in the right location.
