    • 1). Install the Radiant version of Call of Duty 2 if it is not already on your computer, inserting the CD into your disc drive and following the installation instructions on the wizard that pops up.

    • 2). Open the game program using the icon that is either on your desktop or in the Programs menu. In the application that appears, click on "Create New" to start a new map. Select a folder/location on your computer and click "Save."

    • 3). Go to "Edit-Preferences" on the interface menu to open Preferences. Click on one of the four small pictures in the top left corner to select the type of layout you want and then click OK.

    • 4). Drag your mouse from the center point of the grid screen to create a box on the map, using the size coordinates in the bottom status bar to indicate the box's size. Move the cursor along the application's Z-axis to make the box taller, and then click the "Hollow" button.

    • 5). Create a player start point on the map, right-clicking on a spot in the 2-D window within your created box, left-clicking on "Info" within the Entity Placement Window that appears and clicking then on "player_start" within the sub-menu. Drag the box up a grid line so the player isn't stuck in the floor.

    • 6). Click on "Texture-Usage-interior wall" in the main menu to select colors for the wall. Choose a texture from the given list and press Ctrl-Shift and click the mouse on the wall that you want to make that color.

    • 7). Right-click on a spot in your created room where you want an entity like a light to open the Entity Placement Window. Select a light or other entity from the window to place the entity, then click and drag the entity to a better location if desired.
