Growing up as a kid and then into adulthood, I was never fully aware of what constituted as a good dog accessory.
I knew that a sturdy collar and leash were a must for any dog owner, but I never really paid attention to how stylish a dog collar and leash, or any other dog accessory, could be.
Perhaps there were many styles of dog accessories to choose from back when I was younger, and I just did not pay any attention to them.
I do now! From meeting many other dog lovers, and walking through all our beautiful city parks here in San Francisco, I have learned to admire all dog breeds; therefore, I have learned to admire quality dog accessories as well.
Growing up in the neighborhood that I did, I was not exposed to many a dog breed, but living in different neighborhoods over the last few decades I've gotten amazed at how many majestic dogs are out there.
The same goes for how the dog accessory industry has expanded, and all I can say is, wow! First, an anecdote: As a young man I was a fan of large, menacing looking, and powerful dogs.
Over the years I've just become a dog fan, and have learned to love the true quality of a dog: their heart and personality.
My wife and I love to take long walks, mostly in Golden Gate Park and the Presidio district, and I cannot tell you how many times we stop to pet almost every dog we come across.
The times that we are not able to pet someone's dog we realize that it is not so much the dog that does not want to be petted, but mostly the owner.
Oh well, we keep on walking until we can pet someone else's dog because we can't pet our own for now, since our current landlord won't allow pets.
We are working on that, though, as we are searching for a place that will allow us to have pets.
Soon! What I have learned most about dogs, and what I want to share with others, is that aside from owning a wonderful dog, one's pet should be fitted with quality and stylish dog accessories.
