    • Deep-sea fishing, beachcombing, white sandy beaches, warm water, beautiful weather and cultural attractions are what bring visitors to Ft. Myers, Florida, year round. If you love to golf, then the numerous golf courses in and around Ft. Myers will keep you busy. Fly fishing, flats fishing and deep-sea fishing keeps the fisherman busy. Common catches are grouper, snapper and amberjack. Bring home the catch and have a fish fry at your campsite at one of Ft. Myers campgrounds.

    Koreshan State Historic Park

    • Koreshan State Historic Park is approximately 20 minutes from Ft. Myers and is the historic location of Cyrus Rees Teed's visionary utopian settlement. Built in 1894 near the Estero River, the colony diminished after 1961. Today, this site is a Florida State Park. The park offers 60 campsites that include water, electricity, picnic table and fire ring. Flush toilets and showers are available. Vegetation barriers are planted between each site for privacy. Canoeing, kayaking, fishing and hiking the nature trails are available recreations, and Manatees are frequently seen in the Estero River.

    Ortona South Recreation Area

    • Ortona South Recreation Area, about 15 minutes from Ft. Myers, offers 51 campsites along the Caloosahatchee River. Manatees are often seen traveling through the river and there is a fishing pier at the park. The campground has native, tropical vegetation. All sites come with electric and water hookups. The campground offers flush toilets, hot showers and drinking water. Sites are on a first come, first served basis and have a 14-day camping limit.

    Fort Myers/Pine Island KOA

    • The Fort Myers/Pine Island KOA is just a few minutes from Ft. Myers on Pine Island, known as the tarpon capital of the world. The KOA offers tent sites, RV sites and camping cabins. The RV sites come with water, electricity and sewer. The tent sites are grassy, shaded and have water. The heated swimming pool is open year round. A breakfast bar and wireless Internetis are available. Bicycles can be rented on site, and a convenience store is available for camping supplies and sundries.
