Hi! I¡¯m Mark Black and welcome to expertvillage.com. We¡¯re going to talk about intermediate theory concepts. Let me show you. What if I didn¡¯t use a chord that was normative chord? Here¡¯s what something like that might sound like. So here¡¯s our little song¡our D chord¡then I look, check this out¡.that G I just put in there, you guitar players, there¡¯s no G in this key. Well the ear picked that up instantly; it said hey, there¡¯s a G in there, there¡¯s no G in this scale. Even though I never went¡your ear figured all of that out immediately. As soon as I played this A chord it was da da da da da da da. So when we play a chord that¡¯s not in there¡here I¡¯ll do a different one. I did a D minor. So I did a D minor and a G. The ear says D minor, there¡¯s a F in there, it¡¯s supposed to be a F sharp, G, it¡¯s supposed to be a G sharp. The ear hears those differences.
