The London Transport Museum explores the heritage of London and its transport system through a variety of interesting mediums. The London Transport Museum's collection originated in the 1920's, when the London General Omnibus Company decided to preserve two Victorian horse buses and an early motorbus for future generations. The Museum of British Transport opened in an old bus garage in Clapham, South London during the 1960's, before moving to Syon Park in West London in 1973 as the London Transport Collection. In 1980, the public displays moved again, this time to occupy the flower market building in Covent Garden as the London Transport Museum.

The museum's collections include original artworks and posters that have been used to promote the city's transport over the last century. They also have some fantastic examples of transport vehicles and objects that are reminiscent of times gone by. Throughout the museum, visitors explore both the past and present, which engages people to think about the issues and opportunities there are in terms of travel in the future.

On each different floor, the visitor goes through different time periods and embarks on a journey of discovery as history reveals itself through interactive mediums.
