How to Get a Deal for Your Celebs
- 1). Make a list of celebrities known to support the charity for which you're hosting a fundraiser. Remember, "celebrity" is an all-encompassing word for people in the public eye. This could mean local celebrities, such as politicians or actors from the local playhouse, or Hollywood celebrities, with many others in between.
- 2). Build relationships with your chosen celebrity or the people closest to her. Friends, relatives and employees of your celebrity are more likely to help you persuade someone to speak at or show up to your event if you have taken the time to attend other events in which she is involved.
- 3). Contact the celebrity you're hoping to secure for your event. You may be required to go through her press agents instead of talking directly with her. Discuss the terms of your fundraiser -- including whether you're offering to pay the celebrity to appear. Some may expect to be paid, others may do it for free. If she expects to be paid, you will need to haggle with her or her agents to get the best deal for both of you.
