    Chaldean Festival

    • The Chaldean Festival is held on June 11, 2011 through June 13, 2011. This is the fifth year for the festival sponsored by the city of Southfield and the Chaldean Community Foundation. The festival offers both residents and visitors a fair atmosphere with carnival rides, games, food, shopping and live entertainment. The Chaldean Community Foundation is an organization that represents and serves people who speak Aramaic.

    Jazz and Blues

    • Head to the Southfield Public Library meeting room at 6:30 p.m. on March 16, 2011, for a Jazz and Blues concert by The Rusty Wright Band. The "blues-infused" band has six members who have performed in some of the country's top blues concerts. Saxophone, organ and piano are just a few of the instruments played by the band. The concert is sponsored by Friends of the Southfield Public Library and the Detroit Blues Society. It is free to the public.

    Arts and Science Saturdays

    • On March 26, 2011, children in kindergarten and older can enjoy learning about arts and sciences at the Southfield Public Library. The Organization for Bat Conservation will teach and engage students in learning about the nocturnal animals. Animals discussed will include flying squirrels, owls and bats. The free event begins at 2 p.m.

    Southfield Pavilion Antiques Exposition

    • For the 31st season, the Southfield Pavilion Antiques Exposition will take place at the Southfield Municipal Complex on Feb. 25-27, 2011. The antiques show features American, European and Asian pieces as well as decorative art from antique dealers from around the country. Admission is $8 per person. Children under 12 get in free. Parking is also free.
